Review of Park Place 2022

Following the uncertainty of the previous 2 years it was really special to be back at Park Place for a weekend of yoga and reconnection. For many of us it was the first opportunity in a long while to spend time in community with others and relax.

When I was putting the programme of activities together I was a little nervous but in the end I couldn’t have asked for a better variety and mixture of experiences which complimented each other perfectly. One comment was that there was too much to do!

I trained with The Friends of Yoga Society teacher training school and gained my diploma in 2013. This school was established in the UK in 1972 and it was important to me to include Friends of Yoga trained teachers in the weekend. To this end we had four Friends of Yoga trained teachers leading classes.

Kate Lavery yoga-with-katy led a wonderful pre breakfast yoga session.

Wayne Boyce  wayne-boyce-tea-gongs-yoga treated us to some movements from the Institute of Pranic Healing before a wonderful sound bath.

Cate Knott Carpenter www.cateyoga.co.uk introduced us to Sivananda yoga and then entertained us with partner Thai yoga massage on Saturday evening.

Zoe English www.yogashoal.co.uk used her yoga therapy training to give as another blissful class.

The highlight of the weekend for me was chanting with internationally renowned Kirtan teacher Nikki Slade. nikkislade.com Nikki managed to find the time to raise the vibrational sounds and energy with us on Saturday lunchtime between leading kirtan in London on Friday and appearing at the World Yoga Festival on Sunday!

We rounded the weekend off with yet another fabulous local teacher Sarah Rush www.sarahrushyoga.com whose Sunday morning yin yoga, weaving in the yamas and nyamas, left us all totally restored and ready to return to our normal routines.

Looking forward to next year at Park Place on Friday July 28th 2023

Thank you for organising it – it must have been hard work to coordinate and run!

The three of us loved it, and I’m sure everyone else did as well. Park Place is such a lovely peaceful venue. There was a good atmosphere, mix of participants and variety of teachers.

Well done and thanks again!
