Review of Park Place yoga retreat 2024
In July, 32 beautiful souls joined together for a 3rd annual weekend of yoga and connection. The theme for this year was Life Rhythms and it was fantastic to reunite to explore this theme.
Once everyone had arrived and found their rooms the weekend kicked off with a welcome circle to set the scene and allow friends old and new to connect.
On Friday evening, to sooth away the week we were treated to a magical calming Sound bath with Anita https://www.anita.yoga/
Saturday and Sunday mornings started with yoga before breakfast. We try not to speak before this session! Simmi’s Sunday morning yoga was perfectly laid back as we connected to our own rhythms to set us up for the day.
On Saturday afternoon Kate Lavery took us on a Contemplation Walk around the grounds. Kate rounded off the afternoon with ‘Lazy Yoga’ in the main hall.
Cate took us on a journey to the Balearic islands with chill out sounds which belied the strong yoga practice. https://www.cateyoga.co.uk/
As well as our above Friends of Yoga trained teachers, we were also treated to two guest teachers sessions.
Richard Parker led an amazing African drumming session using authentic djembe drums. His expert tuition and guidance had everyone smiling and together we created some incredible Rhythms.
Rob Loades started his Evergreen yoga with a deep and informative breathwork session which complemented his yoga style perfectly.
As always, the setting of Park Place, simple vegetarian food and the care of the Sisters made the weekend complete.
We also raised £110 for the TeenYoga foundation with a raffle to win a limited-edition Om sculpture which was kindly donated by Julie Whitehead.
Here it is in its new home!
A big Thank you to everyone who came along and made the retreat such a success, with a special mention to the cake bakers Sue and Nic – They were delicious.
Thank you to those who have already paid their £25 deposit for next Year – dates for your diary 25th-27th July 2025.
Here are a few comments and images from the weekend.
